Field Trip Grants Available for the 2026 School Choice Week Capitol Rally

The Coalition of Idaho Charter School Families is excited to announce Field Trip Transportation Grants to help schools of choice across Idaho bring students to the 2026 National School Choice Week Capitol Rally on January 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM at the Idaho State Capitol.

This year’s celebration will be Idaho’s largest statewide School Choice Week event, bringing together students from charter, magnet, private, online, micro, homeschool, and alternative schools for an inspiring, high-energy rally in the Capitol Rotunda.

The Capitol Rally: The Heart of School Choice Week

The rally will feature:

  • Student spotlights and performances

  • A celebration of all Idaho education options

  • An unforgettable experience in the Capitol Rotunda

We want your students in the room with us.

Field Trip Transportation Grants

Grants are available to help cover:

  • Bus transportation costs

  • Driver time and mileage

  • Travel-related expenses

  • Optional educational stops throughout Boise

Popular educational add-ons include:

These grants are designed to help schools attend the rally first and foremost, while giving students a rich educational experience in Boise. If your school is far from Boise and will only be able to fit in the rally on the 27th, you do not have to add other stops as there is plenty to do at the capitol.

How to Apply

Submit a short proposal (1 page or email) including:

  1. School name & contact person

  2. School type (charter, private, magnet, online, micro, homeschool)

  3. Grade levels and number of students attending

  4. Itinerary: Capitol Rally + any Boise educational experiences

  5. Transportation plan & cost estimate

  6. Amount of funding requested

  7. How this field trip benefits your students

(Rolling awards may be possible depending on remaining funding.)

Award notifications will be sent within 5 business days of submission.

🚍 FIELD TRIP GRANT PRIORITIES

1️⃣ Highest Priority
Full bus of students attending the Capitol Rally

2️⃣ Second Priority
Students attending the rally with a performance or entertainment
(dance team, marching band, choir, or other student showcase)

3️⃣ Third Priority
Smaller student groups attending the rally

Grant awards will be made in this order as funding allows.

You can apply for a grant for a homeschool co-op, a micro-school, non-profit, sports team, etc. or send the website link to your child’s school.
